LG G5 - Bend Test - Scratch Test - Burn Test

So many new smart phones! Its hard to decide what to buy. Its my turn to test the LG G5 for quality and durability. I start by scratching the phone screen to see how easy it gets scratched. Then I check out the body of the phone. The LG G5 is made of plastic, so the body does not feel as premium as an iPhone or a Samsung... and the cost is pretty much the same.

I burn the screen, as well as do a bend test to see if the phone will be reliable in the long term.

These phones are tanks. I dropped mine in a lake once about five feet deep, and went back 3 months later because I wanted the sd card from it. When it was dry three months later I got curious and threw a spare battery in. To my amazement, the tank fired right up and updated to Oreo lmao. Nice to have two around now.

Had an S7. My G5 is a much better phone, fast, fluid. I prefer the camera, no yellow tint, no over sharpening, great dynamic range takes amazing pics. Feels awesome in the hand without a case. Definitely doesn't warrant all the negative comments by people who don't even own one!

The back housing is not plastic, it is coated aluminum.

I bought this phone for $150 so I'm not complaining, its not a bad phone, half the people complaining about the build quality, why if your worried about the part that slides is going to bend just buy a case(even if it bends its not gonna break) and people saying it has a plastic back, it doesn't its aluminium covered in paint. And some of y'all haven't either research more on the phone or never had it. I love my phone

I have got this phone from 5 april. Until that moment I had got Nexus 6P. Both phones are good, Nexus have better sound and better design, better battery life.
LG have got better twice camera, removeable Battery...
LG - 8/10
Nexus 8.5/10.

After two years my G5 is still alive and working pretty good with few scratches and bad battery. Also this phone is pretty much every day on floor... I'm clumsy 💁😔

The G5 is coated with a paint that keeps the metal housing from being slippery and so that causes it not to "feel premium". Guess cold slippery metal "feels premium". Who knew? I'll bet LG is kicking themselves for not guessing that.

This phone has survived many a fall and the lcd still works and all the glass has is scratches. It even survived a 6 foot drop without much (if any) damage at all. Double tap to wake stopped working a long time ago, though I think it has to do with an app I installed called Smore, it puts ads on your lock screen and if you swipe at least once a day that's 10 points or 10¢ that goes toward codes that you can redeem once you have enough points. Sure this phone has its problems, but I can replace parts on it for cheap and take it apart very easily. I even replaced the camera back in July and it went very smoothly.

Would you know of a way to improve the cooling of the phone? Like say putting some type of copper piping in the phone? Maybe similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 9's cooling system.
