My mother was born in udine, the friuli is an amazing region, stunning landscapes, lovely food & my favourite wine tokai, now known as friulano. If you want to visit a beautiful part of italy that hasn't been ruined by tourism, then i recommend the friuli.

I spent Easter 2019 in Gorizia and spent one day visiting a couple of wine producers. So easy to visit the producers and they make very good white wines made from the native grapes. Discovered the red native grapes when visiting. But this region is quite unknown in Sweden.
