Parga in Greece ( Grecia Griechenland Griekenland ) - Πάργα - is a picturesque resort town in Epirus, built up a mountainside located on the Ionian coast between the cities of Preveza and Igoumenitsa. It combines mountain and sea, and is known for its scenic beauty. Located 65 km from the airport of Aktio with seasonal charter flights from abroad, it is 344 km from Thessaloniki and 420 km from Athens. In the summer months it is connected to the surrounding islands of Ionian Sea by ferries. It attracts thousands of tourists because of the beautiful beaches, where swimmers can enjoy the calm and warm waters and a wide variety of sea sports as well as facilities for diving, fishing, wind-surfing. The town and the surrounding areas have many restaurants, seaside taverns serving fresh fish and unique local recipes. The Castle on the top of a hill is worth visiting, built in the 11th century by the residents to protect their town from the pirates and the Turks.
