Join us on Via Rail Canada vacation Montreal to Vancouver. We had an excellent time in the Upper/Lower Berth and we met lots of great passengers and locals along the way.

Passengers on the Canadian can choose from economy class, upper and lower berths, cabin for 1, cabin for 2 and prestige class.

Our journey started at Montreal and we ended at Vancouver Pacific Central Station.

We loved the park car and the views from the dome car on the train were spectacular. The meals in the dining car were among our favorites on a train. In the park car refreshments were served most of the day.

During our trip we got to see snow capped mountains which was a real treat. We also got time to walk around in Edmonton, Winnipeg and Jasper.

I love these long videos I work nights I watch them before going to bed. 🥰 Bruce Jenner, Sugar Ray Leonard, Nadia Comaneci and Edwin Moses are the names I remember from that Olympic.

Most of the comments seem to be about trains, but to answer your question about the 1976 Winter Olympics. It was special to us in the UK when John Curry won the men's Figure Skating gold medal and changed the whole concept of skating forever. He paved the way for the transition from just pure technical ability to skating as an art form.

Glad to see more of things to see along the way rather than just a review of food and cabins aboard the train.

Its nice to see a passenger train with more than six or seven cars. I'm old enough to remember when the California Zephyr and the 20th Century Limited were trains of this length.

Makes me want to take a train trip. The last one I had was from DC to Denver. My ears loved it. No vertigo from air travel. Also, I had 3 hours to walk around Chicago.

As a San Diego native and avid Padres fan…I enjoyed Rob’s repping the “Pads” with his cap in the video! ⚾️👍

Thank you so much for sharing your trips with us. I love the train and am hoping to take a trip across next Christmastime. Thank you for the preview! Nice music choice for your video and thank you for providing the names of the songs; I've added Divine Life Society to my playlist. 😊

This trip looks amazing! And I'm a huge olympics fan too -- I think the biggest star of those games had to be Nadia Comaneci, and her perfect 10 in gymnastics, but it also got Bruce Jenner on the Wheaties box for setting the decathlon record. Bonus that Sugar Ray Leonard won gold in the boxing too. Lot of famous names in those games!

I can remember as a child going on a camping trip around Lake Superior and watching the Montreal Olympics on a little black and white TV we had set up in our trailer. The big star was gymnast Nadia Comaneci from Romania, who racked up seven perfect 10 ratings.

Great video of the new VIA RAIL.CANADIAN TORONTO TO VANCOUVER...my daughter and I travelled from QUEBEC CITY TO VANCOUVER 2004...the railroad cars, were older but the first class equipment, upper & lower berths were a great deal larger & more comfortable than the what appears on your video...our trip started in Berkeley, CA to NYC, Montreal, QB City, TORONTO, MANITOBA, etc., if we had waited to travel 2023, we would have not.neen happy with the small space...never the less, we really e enjoyed your travel video.

I'm amazed at how ViiaRail has kept these vintage (65+y/o) cars in such great working condition. There are a few of these cars in the U.S. that are privately owned, but they're for charter & are incredibly expensive. People may complain ViaRail's sleeper car fares are expensive, but it's worth trying at least once. The observation dome car (Park Car) is usually found at the rear of trains & offer the best views. My guess is it probably requires a lot of switching to place them where they need to be. There weren't many built & are a huge draw for train enthusiasts worldwide.
