I'd take this one step further. If you have a social security number, you should just automatically be legally allowed to vote when you turn 18. Period. This shouldn't be that hard!

I live in Arizona, and a lot of our right wing folks are angry at people who've moved here from California. They say "don't California MY Arizona!" To which I say "um...you moved here from Ohio 10 years ago." Our elections work just fine, but now agitators and candidates (taking outside money) are trying to break it for no other reason than that Trump lost. Maricopa County's system has been in place since the 90s, and there never was a problem...until Trump lost.

I can’t believe that Americans have to register to vote. In Canada, once you’re 18, your ballot just comes every four years automatically. Likely this way throughout the world.

The idea of having to register to vote is such a strange concept to the rest of the planet. Most Democratic countries have a system that allows anyone that is a citizen that is of voting age automatically. Simply by being old enough.

As an American living abroad, I have registered as a previous CA resident. It was so easy and fast to do. Governor Newsom's proposed bill is a great thing!

Oregon has done this since 2016 as well as having been the first state to inact vote by mail only over two decades ago.

I am surprised that the US hasn’t changed to do the same thing that Canada does. As you know, when Canadians submit our taxes they ask if we want to be included on the voter registration and we just click a button to check the box.
