NetWitness Platform version 12.4 What's New - Expanding SSO Features Removing Direct AD Dependency

In NetWitness 12.4, the dependency on Active Directory (AD) for authorization or role mapping is eliminated in contrary to the older version, in which authentication occurs solely using the SSO configuration. It later depends on AD for authorization. To accomplish this new change, the following updates occurred:

The Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) provider can be configured to send their user group information as attributes in their SAML auth token.
A new role mapping tab is introduced for SSO to save role mapping for these groups.
This group name and its mapping are used for SSO user authorization.
