Tangled animation has a lot of deep thoughtful details and today I will show you 2 of them.

As you know, Mother Gothel loves Rapunzel for her hair. For this reason, Gothel pays more attention to Rapunzel's hair in every scene she talks to her, but Flynn Rider does the opposite. Every time he is in physical contact with Rapunzel, Flynn moves her hair out of her eyes so that it doesn't cover her face and finally makes a great sacrifice and cuts her hair.

As a bonus detail. In this scene, when Gothel tells Rapunzel that she loves her, there is no reflection of Rapunzel in her eyes, but there is her reflection in Rapunzel's eyes. Something that makes me sad is the fact that rapunzel said she’s had Pascal for as long as she can remember but chameleons only live for a about 5 years which means she’s probably been keeping him alive with her hair (similar to how she does in the series) which means that since Flynn cut her hair pascals days are probably limited

People who are complaining about her hair being short are missing the point by a landslide. Rapunzel's entire life was determined by her hair, as the one valuable quality Gothel kept her around for. Eugene sees Rapunzel as a person, he does not care about her hair at all. By cutting it off completely without caring about the looks, he is freeing her from being defined by it and proving one last time how much he loves her as a person. Saying he should have kept it longer means that you too ultimately care more about this superficial quality of hers instead of her personhood and her freedom.

The reflection in the eyes is a detail i would have never noticed and it actually makes me a little happy knowing about the reflections bc it makes me appreciate their characters a lot more. Flynn really did love rapunzel, he loved her so much he was willing to give up the crown so he could just spend the rest of his days with rapunzel, no longer caring about wealth and fame, and even his life. Now knowing the knowledge about the reflections, having watched the movie, and series and shorts, this just makes me like this couple even more.
