"Over the Rainbow" was composed by Harold Arlen with lyrics by Yip Harburg. It was written for the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz and was sung by actress Judy Garland.
Lyrics:
Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
In the land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true
Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Way above the chimney tops that's where
You'll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true
Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Way above the chimney tops that's where
You'll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why, then oh why can’t I?
If happy little blue birds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can't I?
