My gaming group and I absolutely love this game in fact we played it twice tonight. I believe there is a good strategy that you can formulate after you played it a few times. For me it's go for the cards that give you infinite gems so that you can build a financial engine to support development later in the game and can give you a ton of victory points.

I enjoyed this game which is unusual as I normally don't like abstracts or auctions. I did play it solo a fair bit. O well sometimes different is good. I see where you went wrong! The text box shows Mayfair Games but you said it was Mayday games? Maybe you played an Evil Cody version :) Thanks for the review Matey :)

Wait, there was a good multiplayer triple X game from the 80s called Viceroys. I was hoping that this was a remake.

I wish I had watched this review before I bought it last year. Ok game, but terrible balancing issues. Don't quite understand the hype it got, but I can see why people might find it pretty to look at.
