I was 25 in 1975 and loved this song. Still enjoy it to this day. I'm 74 now. What a voice!

Elvin Bishop's name was on this single...but without Mickey Thomas, this great song never becomes a CLASSIC...and THIS vocal performance ( including the female BGV) is an amazing example...and this guy sang like this EVERY NIGHT...he can STILL sing like this, and it's nearly 50 years later!

It's 2024, I'm 64 and still listening to this. Best version.
She's terrific. But MT - what a voice. He can still belt it out like this today!
It's up the in my all-time 100 favorite songs

If you are fortunate enough to call yourself a 'baby Boomer" like I was, we grew up listening to the greatest assortment of musical talent that any generation had the privilege to enjoy...and we saw them in person. The list of artist that have earned the title of 'legend' is long and incredible. From Woodstock to the Beatles to the Rolling Stones to Jackson Brown to the Eagles and so, so many more'. Our parents were often referred to as the 'Greatest Generation', well, we damn sure are the luckiest. Our playlist will never grow old or die....who are your favorites?

Met my high school girlfriend when this song came out, played it on my Pioneer Supertuner 8-track tape deck in my 1968 Camaro when we went out. This was when music was MUSIC. I have not seen her since 1976 but ironically my sister is still friends with her. She always tells my sister "tell Richard hello for me"

Definitely Mickey Thomas' talent and unique special voice were "criminally" overlooked by the music "experts" out there. Nobody will ever sing "I fool around and fell in love" like Mickey Thomas did. He is extraordinary!

Dang. I was 14 in ‘75.
My hair was exactly like that then.
That’s what firstcaught my future wife’s eye.
We dated for three years and July ‘23 will be our 42nd anniversary.
Many thanks to all of the wonderful’70s and “80s rock legends. Thank you so much.

70 yrs old and loved this song then. It played over the grocery store sound system today while I shopped and I couldn’t help stopping and singing along with the music. Sigh I miss all the great music of my generation.

This song is absolutely priceless. The vocals. The lyrics. The guitar solo. This is legendary music. Somethings will never probably see you again. Lord have mercy

One of the most underrated, under-appreciated and under-celebrated voices in Rock-n-Roll Thomas.

I was 11 years old diggin' this song. 49 years later, I've fooled around & fell in love so many times I'm still trippin' over myself. And trippin' on how telling this piece of gold is. Sing it Elvin. Tell us how it really is.

Give Elvin credit for stepping back and letting Mickey take the vocals on this one.
The great Elvin Bishops highest charting song ever.

That voice gives me chills. No auto tune just pure talent. Where did that kind of music go. 😢
