@encorporadow I would check out students.autodesk.com. There you can download (free) Autodesk® Inventor®, Autodesk® Revit®, Autodesk® 3ds Max®, Autodesk® Maya®, and AutoCAD®. Very nice. One thing I noticed is that if you switch to "classic User Interface" Direct Input does not appear...We have Inv. 2011 at work, but everyone is afraid of the new User Interface Ribbon (except me), so they won't use it... If they only knew what they are missing.

what are you using to navigate (how you rotate your parts looks very fluid)?? 3d mouse?

Too bad Autodesk Inventor isn´t more popular, for me is the best design software, even better than Autocad...and sure i agree that there are not too many or too good tutorials on the web
