Australian Senate EXCESS DEATHS Inquiry – What antivaxxers didn’t share

Antivaxxers did their best in the Australian Senate hearing into excess deaths to ask gotcha questions of the various experts. Unfortunately for them, they didn’t get the answers they wanted as the data clearly shows that the mortality rate is higher in the unvaccinated.

I'm not sure why some people, especially ones who should know better, are still trying for "gotcha" moments regarding covid, vaccines, and excess deaths. Data matters. Public Health matters. Science matters. And science communicators, even videos done from the floor with Cindy, matter, too. Naysayers seem dug in and statistical apples to apples comparison aren't appreciated. The real test to the sincerity of the senators involved to find out the 'truth' is if they will reconsider their current positions on the vaccines after having received the very clear and indisputable information and analysis that answered all their questions

Senator Rennick did exactly the same thing recently in his questioning of BOM about temperature records in Australia - he likes to act like he knows what he is talking about, but in reality has no understanding of how data interpretation works.

It will be interesting to see how the New Zealand inquiries go - people seem to have lost interest, so it will probably end up being a series of anti-vax talking points fed to the few overworked journalists we have left.
