Honda Fit camper tour

This video is a tour of my 2009 Honda Fit camper. The car is completely stock, I didn't have to remove seats or make any additions other than the curtains I show in this video. I've driven and lived in this car extensively and have taken it cross continent and back, let me know if you have any questions.

Here are links to a couple of the things I use for this setup:

Keeping it simple yet organized is the best. Thanks for the ideas. The table shelf at the back is an especially great idea.

I use my Honda Jazz (same as Fit) for travelling to Rc-events (3-5 days) in Denmark, Norway and Germany. The passenger side is full of (huge) rc-gliders, Lots of stuff I keep in a net under the roof. I sleep at the driver side with the seat pushed forward, a box with rc stuff fills the gap. Thank you for the "dehumidifier" tip. Btw. my age is 71 :-)

I travelled to lots of place with my jazz/fit, short trip, camping, even to racetrack! Honda jazz/fit are one of the best budget and spacious cars we can get.

Driving tip, to avoid accidents, not sure if someone already posted this but, never leave any loose items in the driver footwell like shoes, bottles etc, if they become dislodged and move about while driving, they can become stuck behind your brake peddle, it may lead to a crash.

Happy trails!

Love the setup, doesn’t cost a fortune and cans still use it as a regular car after the trip

This is the best Honda Fit camper set up that I have seen. I love my 2008 Honda Fit. 36 mpg baby and good power!

Good idea to fit the wood shelf in the cargo area! Thanks for sharing. Nice tour.

I have a 2012 Honda Fit and I brag about how much I can actually FIT into it lol a large chaise lounge, a treadmill, and just recently I packed it with 2 desks with storage, 2 tall bedside dressers and a small chaise lounge in ONE trip, it was a tetris situation, but it worked out great! Love that you're doing this with yours! How cool!

Dude, thank you so much for showing me your ride/home. I currently have a honda fit and have been itching to travel so I went to carvana for a van, ended up not liking it and exchanging it out for my old car again. I felt pretty defeated until I watched your video. I didnt think you could keep the car tidy enough but you def showed me that it can be done. I appreciate all the info and am looking forward to putting it to use. Safe travel :)

I have a fit and feel it would be good to live in. You’re giving me great ideas. I have a house I own but I can imagine times (hurricanes) when this may be needed. You have one of the better set ups, I must say.

I really love these minimal build designs. No need for a bed frame which is very nice and keeps it modular

thanks for posting this! i've taken several long trips in my fit and just removed the front seat to carry longer items / to not have to sleep diagonally. such a fantastic car and get's nearly as much mpg as a prius.

Love the humor in "foyer" and no shoes because it's an asian household. 😄 Good policy! 5:25 The plywood table looks so inviting and convenient that I'm rethinking buying a cargo cover. ; - ) I've watched a lot of CheapRVLiving (great resource) and haven't seen anything like that yet in a car camper. Honda Fits rock! 7:13 The rice cooker is so cute and practical. 😃💖 Thank you for sharing this!

Thanks for posting this. It was very informative, and it's nice to see a version without platform so you can sit upright in the bed area.

Thanks for posting. I used to have one myself then changed to a Subaru Forester but believe it or not the Fit had more sleeping space in the back without having to modify!

I recently purchased a Fit as my first (in my name) car. I just got my associates degree and subsequently a job paying ~40k and my previous car was totaled; I think I may be living out of my car as I work 45 miles away from my home. This tour was quite informative and I can see myself with a similar setup to yours rather soon since rent is still sky high. I just need to learn about implementing an electrical system (just solar + battery) as I think that's very important when living inside a car. Thanks for the video!

You did an excellent job in the fitting-out of your Fit, it's really very cleverly done, and I do appreciate very much that you're so kindly sharing your experience with us. ATB, Peter.

Thanks for the video. I'm currently building out my fit to camp in and possibly live for a while. I did decide to go with a small platform to deal with the uneven floor and find the extra storage space helpful. Plus I can still sit up. Yay for small cars with lots of headroom.

I just picked up a 2008 Fit. I'm a bit taller at about 5'11 on a good day and I can fit okay completely diagonal. Been thinking about using this thing as a camper and this just sealed the deal for me.
