Thank you so much! Hubs constantly likes FB posts and the sound drives me nuts. For me (Android) the path was a bit different but easily found: menu at top right, Settings, Preferences/Media/Sounds in the app - slide off. Off to grab his phone and mute the annoying sound!

For me its under Privacy and Settings, Settings, under Preferences click on Media, the turn off "in app sounds".
This only turns off those annoying click responses. All other sounds remain intact.

I think it'd be great if all the phones had the same wording on the settings. it'd be a lot easier to follow directions if they're all the same! These instructions worked for me, but I think I was lucky this time!

I gave been going through my phone settings a million times trying to get rid of that sound. For some reason beeps or clicks from my phone cause my elderly dog to have severe long lasting panic attacks. Then I have to turn the sound off but thar noise is still on. Having my phone on silent has caused me to miss very important calls.

No matter what I do, that sound is the same volume and it's loud, waking my dog up from a dead sleep. She's really been struggling since I had to have her sister and other half, put to sleep due to esophageal collapse. Shortly after my smoke alarm battery died, the one that is at the to of my 14ft ceiling, so I had no way of reaching it. It caused her such distress I called the fire department to come take it down. They changed the battery and then a week later the carbon monoxide right next to it died and I had to go all around my house taking down alarms and changing batteries. Since then, without her sister she seems to have entered a dementia stage where she barks at the door from across the room at dusk like clockwork. I never knew dogs could have sundowners! I had to put her on Prozac which worked well but turned her into a zombie and the noises my phone made caused her such agony. She was a shell of her former super happy, bouncy, eternal puppy, so I took her off the Prozac and she's 17 now and her old self, just nearly blind and deaf but happy. The noises from my phone send her fleeing to the other room where she gets very confused.

I hadn't noticed this noise when zid hit the "like" button. It has to be a new thing right? I have no idea how I ever could ignore it. It's beyond irritating and has a tone that pierces my soul. It wakes my dogs up at night.
I just wanted tooffer a little co text to bowmuch this video helps me. I can't thank you enough! I haven't turned it off yet but this is one of the most helpful videos that I truly appreciate, so I thank you, and my dogs thank you, especially Pixie.

I just got a new Samsung phone and i dint want to mute all system sound, but i want to for sounds like this. Also had to do for sending texts. It's there a way to mute every similar sound for every app, without muting everything?

This sounds like exactly what I want, but the name of the setting implies that it will disable sound on videos as well, which I don't want. Is it possible to disable the "like" button sound while still being able to hear videos?
