The idea of reparations sounds fair, but there's an issue with that logic. Not every white person in this country can just cough up money. I'm living in a rural community with 0% possibility of a successful business, I'm unemployed and have no choice but to live with family, with the only possible job prospect being one that pays maybe 16k before taxes. With cost of living leaving me nothing but hardly enough food to get by, how am I going to be able to pay anything? Just as well, my parents only make a total of 22k supporting a house of 6 people. All of us are in huge debt. How can they pay anything? How can my grandmother on social security pay anything? Or my retired Vietnam vet grandfather who barely gets enough to live on from VA benefits? How will he pay? Don't get me wrong, we have some benefits. We live in a community with next to no crime. We can get by without cops harassing us, and we can safely walk around at night. That doesn't help me financially to where I can afford to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars that I don't have and will never have the opportunity to pay. It's like making a homeless man looking for work and trying to get out of his situation pay a $1000 fine for loitering because he stopped to sleep in a park at night. Where's he going to get that money when he has nothing but the clothes on his back? If the government takes it from the tax they already have or recieve and put themselves in a debt a little, I'm fine with that, but I can't pay anything out of pocket.

Reparations are a debt owed. Our posture when addressing this issue should be from a position of power. We should be demanding what's owed.

We shouldn't limit what we demand because it'll make white people comfortable. This debt that's owed, when we receive it, has to have the effect of making us whole financially, emotionally, mentally, and to our satisfaction.

For this to happen our repair must include a monetary portion, a financial (business planning, accounting, wealth building) coaching portion, and a mental / physical health portion.

This effort for repair should last over several generations. Generational trauma is what we are fighting against. We must be made whole!

Maybe I am missing something. He said $14 trillion in cash. Now again, maybe I am missing something. But I would think that someone like Bob Johnson would know that there is currently $1.8 trillion in actual circulation and adding another $14 trillion would turn the U.S. into Zimbabwe. Thank you Bob Johnson for speaking Truth to Power. Economic Empowerment is the only thing holding Black America back within a capitalist based society. The "system" of racism knows this, which is why there has been consistent resistance to Black Economic Progress (ie. Slavery, Tulsa OK, Jim Crowism, Red Lining etc.). Keep up the great work!!

If I'm half African American do I get half or the full amount?

Who is an African American? Most white Americans have black ancestry so do they count?

Also what if I'm a first generation white immigrant?

Do I have to pay the taxes that pays for the reparation?

According to my DNA I'm 5% from Nigeria, Congo, Cameroon, Southern Bantu Peoples and Northern Africa? On my 2020 I declared my ancestry. So if reparations are given out I'm going to file.
I would recommend all Americans to have their DNA tested to see it you have African ancestry. If you find that you have at least 1% file for reparations. It's your right. If they say no you do not qualify then you have every right to sue for violating your rights.
