For some unexplainable reason this song lifts my spirit, touches my soul and creates emotions in me on a level no Christian hymns from my childhood ever did. It’s like it transcends division of race/religion and what some of us have been taught. A friend has brought me back to this song which NOW I can appreciate even more. I recognize the various scenery since I was born and raised on this island. I have sung in the caves at the volcano and heard the echoes sing back…I have sung to Tutu Pele and saw her rise to see who was singing…I sang at the top of Mauna Kea in the exact same places and heard my voice cut through the eerie silence…I walked through the fern forest and appreciate the hapuu and it’s reminder of new beginnings…I’ve stood by the waterfalls and felt the power and constant flow of energy…thank you for this beautiful creation…your tribute to life and gratitude to Great Spirit…Tunkashila❤
