RE: PAUSING, EXPRESSIONS & AIR-INSTRUMENTS:
Please be mindful that we will pause (we prefer to react in the moment & to avoid copyright strike), we will react with enthusiasm, smiles, tears, conversation, exchanged looks and air-instruments. We are expressive by nature and are truly very quirky in every sense of the word. This is who we are and this is what we’ve got to offer. We understand it may not be for everyone, but here's to hoping you all enjoy and we absolutely love positive comments and feedback.

My favorite song of all time. Absolutely the happiest song ever written and while I really like Michael McDonald, Tom Johnston IS the Doobie Brothers.

If you haven't yet check out Long Train Running and China Grove from pre Michael Macdonald era.

Long Train Running is a jam you'll both enjoy.

Nick and Lex, definitely go see the Doobie Brothers if you have the chance

The Doobies pre-Michael McDonald made great songs like this, one of the best songs of the 70s

Lex, I used to think the Bee Gees song "Jive Talking" was "Shy Donkey", so you're not alone here.

Clear as the Driven Snow from The Captain and Me is one of their best yet least known songs, a must listen !!!!

"Listen to the Music" is one of the best rock songs ever written and recorded...that melody...those harmonies...

Tiran Porter was the best bassist for the Doobies. I always liked his style. Sad that he and John Hartman never rejoined them.

This song was the song that got them noticed, way back in 1972. This song started everything.

Michael has been touring with the band usually since COVID....I hope you went and he was Doobs are so in my musical DNA since '72 and they still put on epic concerts

THIS is the Doobie bros.. The bass Tiran Porter puts on a master class on how to add enough bounce to a blues/southern rocks song to make you dance but avoid any movement at all towards pop. If you isolate the bass it is a very sophisticated, with very little repetition. When I listen it can be hard to tell what notes are being played and which are implied (filled in by your mind)..

If you like the bass on this song wait until you hear the bass on Takin’ it to the street! It’s just brilliant

Friday night is wine night and tonight is special, I'm 69! We all loved the DBs in the early 70s.
Mr Music 🤣 This is such a happy song.

I love the Doobies as much as I love Steely Dan, and that's saying something, their music never gets old or stale, I always hear new things in it.

I'm 65 yrs old. I'm a guitarist and the 60's, 70's & 80's was very inspirational for me. Awesome music and artists !! Try China Grove. You will like it !!

They are definitely worth seeing. I saw them 2 years ago, and they were absolutely amazing!

That "Phaser" effect was accomplished by physically touching on the the tape reels and slightly slowing it down with a little varying pressure throwing it out of "phase". Itchy Coo Park by the Small Faces has a nice example of that trick also. Electronic Phase Shifters were invented to create that sound easier and on anything.

For me, Doobie Brothers is the perfect music to play in a convertible with the top down driving on a summer day.

Amigo, “Doobie Bros.” are from San José, Calif. (Silicon Valley) The S.F. Bay Area. Both Tom Johnston and Pat Simmons met at San José State University. “Creedance Clearwater Revival” are from The S.F. Bay Area also, El Cerrito ( outside Oakland). Check out “Tower of Power” ( What is Hip, You’re Still a Young Man, So Very Hard to Go) from Oakland, CA…….SanJoséBob
