Yes, you can export Canva templates to both vector files and SVG files in Adobe Illustrator! In this video, I teach you how to export your Canva designs and Canva logos to vector files and SVG files that you can edit in Adobe Illustrator.

Just follow the steps in this video for both Canva Pro users and Canva free users to edit your Canva designs as vectors! Vector files are very important when sending and receiving files from graphics designers because without them printers will just print raster-based documents.

Thank you! I found that SVG works best when imported to Illustrator. PDF gets messed up with fonts and shapes

Nobody has seemed to answer the questions of the fonts in Canva when exporting as a SVG or a PDF for Adobe Illustrator... do they export properly or is there a way to convert text to outlines in Canva?

How did you handle the text in your file in canva to export over correctly? Alot of my clients have been constantly sending me Canva PDFs but all the fonts are missing, messing up the whole design when i try to print it for them. I dont use Canva on my end and they cant seem to get the fonts from the site itself. I ask them to Outline the fonts in the terms of AI outlining where you convert text into vector shapes. Is there some easy method or missing click they are doing on their end that ends up keeping the fonts as text vs Vector shapes?

I used Canva pro to download my images in SVG Transparent background. In the downloads it goes directly to Illustrator. This vector works well for print on demand t shirts etc., but when I ask a printing co. to make samples the company said it was not in vector format for them to use. The company said it needed to be re -drawn and vectorized. The on Demand company said it was high resolution and the images look great on the t shirt. Do you know how I prepare the image for the t shirt companies that we want to order volume from?

so you can take a free design off canva (lets say a car) someone else made, incorporate it into your own design then sell on lets say a tshirt and there is no copywrite issue?
