I was selling a piece of property in central Illinois after selling a piece next to it. the people that I sold to next door put up a barb wire fence about 20 feet onto my property, then I removed their fence from my property and threw it onto their property, so I had both properties surveyed. then they dumped trash on my property. when I found them there, I attempted to talk to the male (with his actions I will never call him a man) he got into his minivan and tried to hit me with it, so I called the police. He was so afraid that he had his wife talk with me and the police. she complained that I removed her fence and was claiming their property, so I took the police and the woman for a walk showing all the survey pins showed the police where the trash came from while explaining to her that if the trash was dumped on my property again I would have them arrested for criminal trespassing and illegal dumping while using the policeman as a witness.

My uncle had problems with people tearing down property markers on his mountain property and he fixed the problem by placing large rock of probably 500 lbs or so next the the boundary marker making it too heavy for trespassers to move.

Thank you for promoting the use of a land surveyor. More headaches could be avoided if they were used. I always suggest to people to build your fence just inside your property line. That way the fence is yours and your neighbour is left with no quarrel available. I have worked in real estate law for over 40 years, including working in a land surveyor’s office. You are wise my friend and I appreciate your videos so much.

Kevin you are so nice. I’d speak to your neighbor ( even the house across the street) and discuss the trespassing. Once they meet you and see what a nice guy you are, possibly they will call you of any disturbance. 😊

Had a neighbor cut a common gate with another neighbor cut the chain and place his own lock. He is a double dipper ex military and civil service now. Whole career is in intelligence. This ranch borders an intelligence Army Fort. So he thought using a military insignia lock would trick me .He doesn't have any legal access. Wanted to hunt the property apparently .I tried to talk to him . He became belligerent. Had no choice had to trespass him. He learned that you have to stay up all night then get up early to get past me. I can't stomach entitlement thinking in people.
