John, You make this look easy. I've spent the entire day trying to put in a seat with no success. Keeping the rails together while trying to attach them to the wooden strip and frame isn't as easy as your video shows. Oh well, tomorrows another day. Thanks for all your videos. Safety Fast!

Great video John, as usual. But you make this look sooo easy. I've spent the entire day trying to keep the rails together while I attach them to the wooden strip and frame. No joy in Columbus today, but tomorrow is another day. Keep up the great work!

I'm doing this (early morning) as I watch this. I've made so many mistakes, but fortunately they're all reversible. This video was confirming. Thanks for all your videos. I've learned so much.

Hi John, great series thanx. I'm refitting seats to my 1972 MG GBT and was wondering of it makes any difference fitting the wood runners above or below the carpet. The runners were lying on top of the carpets when I got the carpet.

not that I want to tell the master but lining up the seats with new carpet in is a bigger nightmare, what I did after struggling with one side was to rethink the whole thing over.I put the screws in from the underside, this told me where to cut the holes in the carpet and where to place the seat, after that all you do is take one bolt from underside and put it in the top as it should be until all 4 are done.

I love ratcheting wrenches, they have saved me so many times.

Always thought the steel tracks are a silly design. By their very nature, they 'splay open' —— If it were not for the rigidity if the seat frame itself! These seat tracks need redesigning, in my opinion. It's no wonder, over time the wooden fillers, snap and break...there's, on average, a person of 160 - 200lbs applying pressure to them, for perhaps, hours at a time. They should have made the floor pan with a "cleat" that the accompanying frame would slide under and into, locking it in a position. Then a simple set of self tapping, but robust screws, or lags (with a nut) would secure the seat well. imo

Does anyone know of somewhere other than Moss that I can get seat tracks? Or maybe how to make some? I just can't bring myself to pay $45 for two little pieces of metal for One side!
