I was in Sales for well over 20 years. I'm glad I left, especially after listening to all the reasons you said Sales is the best career. When I remember these two decades, I literally feel I am drinking the most delicious wine, filled with the foulest poison...

Trent,

Thank you for your hard work putting these videos together. I’m currently working towards making the transition from the classroom to SaaS Sales. I know my opportunity is coming and I can’t wait to prove my worth in the market place!

I have been in Sales for 6 years, and here's my take:- *It's not worth it!*

Please 🙏 go to college you can do these jobs in your 30s even

1.) *It's not a career*, unless you become a director or a manager
2.) Easy burn out rate!
3.) You will have to work your ass off, because the # of leads will be just enough to keep you surviving.
4.) You will have to work at one place for maybe half a decade to see great income.
5.) Most work enviroments are terrible, but it will strengthen your weak soul
6.) Sales people nowadays are not in demand, there are just too many of them that some jobs are not even willing to pay for training anymore, hence they will also only give you crumbs from the cake 5-10%

If you don't mind me asking, how much of your 50k in your first year was base and how much of it was comission? I'm just getting into sales myself, definitely will be binging your channel haha

Great video Trent! Always enjoy them! How long did it take you to get confident in the knowledge of your product? What are best practices that helped you really know your product

I like how your response to the feedback was to hold a coffee mug. I get to focus more on the way you speak, plus that's one more Qualtrics merch lol.

People that aren’t disciplined, lack people skills, and aren’t closers are the only ones that will complain about sales. Yes, it IS without a doubt the most difficult career path, however, it is also the most rewarding when you’re good at it. Been in sales over 10 years, starting as a sales representative at radio shack, moving to retail sales at T-Mobile, and now work as an Account Executive at Hearst media in Advertising and marketing.

To those who don’t understand sales, aren’t risk takers, go getters, or good problem solvers, please stay in your lane. The only thing that would depress me more is waking up knowing I am going to have the same day EVERY DAY. Sales is an adventure and survival of the fittest. But guess what, nothing is more rewarding than closing deals and earning a huge commission check ON TOP of a good salary.

SALES IS THE BEST

Do you have to be overly nice, a bit fake or a bit of a people pleaser to be in sales though? Thats one thing I worry about.
