The difference between "I do that too" and "It gets in the way of my day to day" is a little grand init?

i stopped suppressing my stimming and my mom got mad at me about it..
it's not my fault i was taught "quiet hands" as a kid

I remember my mom saying that she has the exact same symptoms and autistic traits I did but she wasn't autistic. Then my neurologist told her autism was often hereditary

As an Autistic person this is real. ASD affects people in different ways and I constantly get “but you don’t look like you have autism”

Actual ick.
I sometimes stim by rocking back and forth on my legs. When i was younger, i was constantly picked on for it. I was picked on for my vocal stims. I was picked on for my Hyperfixations.
And when i talk about overstimulation, people are always like 'oh yeah thats like me. You cant have autism, i get stressed when its loud too.'
I will tear you apart cell by cell

My 4 year old is autistic, more level 1 . This makes me so comforted to see videos showing that Autism is. It a bad thing and they’re smarter then most to be honest

Quick reminder:
Doing something that is a “common autistic thing” do not make you autistic, and because someone “don’t look autistic” it doesn’t mean they are not autistic.

And then they bully you because you're too "different" ...

I created a list of resources in my website for you to use! before commenting “stop lying” or “that’s not autism” or “how is x related to autism” view that google doc because my research will be listed there! you can always do your own as well🫶🏼 we have an entire library of our species’ knowledge at our fingertips!

Im the oldest of 3 other siblings(so 4?). My younger brothers are diagnosed w autism. I think i have it too(already diagnosed w adhd(severe)) and because of my adhd my mom keeps saying im not and to stop "looking things up online". And its not just that. I see things my mother allows my brothers to do like stimming that I was NEVER allowed to do as a kid(dad would physically hurt me when I tried to continue stimming). On top of other autistic traits like gi problems, socialization issues, i hate noises/textures, etc. I'm trying to go to a psych for it but its so hard to find one that takes my fams insurance...(the last therapist i went to couldn't diagnose me but said i probably have cptsd/DID and autism but i needed to drive 2 hours to where they could refer me and i couldnt go) and constantly being told im making things up/will be considered a freak if i get diagnosed hurts, a lot

My son has autism amongst other things. I've been diagnosed with dyslexia and bipolar disorder. Sometimes I think I've been incorrectly diagnosed and have ASD and ADHD. As a young girl I was completely away with the fairies and could not grasp normal concepts that other children could. The idea of an aunty or uncle confused me, days of the week went over my head, and understanding time was complete chaos. I got very lonely and depressed from a young age, emotionally sensitive crying a lot and from being young my 'stimming' as such is winding my hair around my fingers and touching it to my nose, I'm almost 40 and still do this.

My therapist (62m) took one look at me (15f) and said “ya know I don’t really think your autistic” when I asked why he said…”you make good eye contact”.

WTF 💀

The big difference is occasionally doing something and it getting in the way of day to day life. Like everyone gets overwhelmed when things are loud but for me, my body shuts down

I do not have ocd. However, i have really bad ocd/depression and before i knew so much about it i was REALLY surprised to see how much they have in common and ive had so many people mistake it for austism, including a licensed therapist.
