UPDATED: You can escape this place if you buy GOTY edition of the game. After defeating the boss you can simply leave the room and use the 'bonfire' in the next one.

My own research conclude the fact of not being able to escape this by any in-game means (in other rooms usually there are missed textures, in which you can safely fall and return to the dream). There is a possibility of using some kind of save file editor, but the odds are low. The bug is supposingly accure in not GOTY version of the game. The bug itself is some kind of cut content of the game. If you have found any way to get out - please, share.
Right now the best option for you is to cheer up and start a new game.

Guys, I found three ways that you can finally save your character.

- Buying Game of the Year Edition (EU version only)
1. Buy it either by PS Store digitally or by disc as long as it's an EU version cuz it's the only one that saves can be transferred.
2. Once you have it installed, open it and return to the save where your character got trapped.
3. Beat the boss and go to the lamp that spawns afterwards. Everything's back to normal.

- Small Resonant Bell trick
1. When you're trapped there, don't kill the Pthemerian Descendant and use the Small Resonant Bell and wait. Just dodge his attacks while doing this.
2. Depending on your level, it takes a long time to wait, so be patient.
3. Once you're finally summoned, get yourself get killed by that guy and once you died you'll respawn back to Hunter's Dream.

- Go to your other character save and use Small Resonant Bell for co-op on any dungeons other than the one you're trapped.
1. Go to your other character save (or start a new one if you don't have any).
2. Beat Blood Starved Beast for its Pthumerian Chalice drop if you haven't already and go back to Hunter's Dream.
3. Go to any Dungeons you want other than the one you're trapped in. Once you're in, use the Small Resonant Bell and wait till you're summoned. This is level dependant again and it'll take time.
4. Once you're summoned, quit the game by its pause menu (DO NOT CLOSE APPLICATION). Go back to the save to your character that got trapped afterwards.
5. In the save you arrived in, you'll notice that the screen turned white. Wait for about 1 minute for your character to fall to death. You'll revert back to the main menu and press "continue" to go back.
6. You're finally back to Hunter's Dream. Although you sacrificed your blood echoes, you can easily get them back via grinding on dungeon code "cummmfpk".

Method 1 is the quickest. But if you don't want to spend your money, you can do the longer 2 methods and you'll still be fine. I did method 3 and managed to get my BL120 character back.

For anyone accidentally stumbling upon this video in search for answers, I just had this yesterday and got it fixed.
It is a stupid solution, but it works. You have to upgrade the original Bloodborne game to "Game of the year" edition version and the dungeon stops glitching.
You can either buy the GoTY edition from PS store or just borrow the disk from a friend if you know someone that has the game.
CAUTION Apparently this fix only works on EU version of the game for reasons I can not fathom so if you're from other regions, you're probably better off starting a new character.

I did it!! Just downloaded my oldest save on Psn plus and replace the new one (that im stuck on that chalice) and It work! Thank god

I fixed this issue you have to download your cloud save from your ps4 overwrite your current save you will lose a little bit of process but it worked for me thank god

This works. Got to the PSN menu and click options over bloodborne. Click Upload/Download Saved Data. There you will find 2 saves. One that is the most recent and one previous. Overwrite the corrupted save and you are good to go. Sorry to anyone who loses their character to this BS.

I just got stuck with this BS. I'll try getting summoned tomorrow. Hopefully someone will get me out of that shithole. Or get GOTY and see if that helps. Apparently there's two versions of this glitched dungeon, the version where this guy has a boss HP bar, and then this even more broken version where he doesn't have one. So him not being treated as a boss might be the reason why some ppl are not able to get summoned out of fight. Which just makes this whole mess worse.
