Federal government, Google reach deal on Online News Act

Google and the federal government have reached an agreement in their dispute over the Online News Act, three weeks before the rules on distributing Canadian news come into force.

The "whole story" needs to compare Canada's position compared to other countries. Canada is not the only country addressing this issue. And no matter how it resolves "for now", it is going to keep on coming back for years. Access to "news" is important to all free, democratic nations.
