Every time I see someone trying to translate Yoruba to someone who doesn't understand the language, it always reminds me how rich and beautiful the language is. It's very proverbial, full of metaphors and complex in a very wise way. It's literally transitional Chinese and Japanese combined if I were to compare it to any language's grammatic structure and rules. In my next life, I'll choose Yoruba language again.

Àṣàkẹ́ is 3 syllables....
Mr. Geebu....Mr. Gabriel in Yòrùbá
O da Yan mọ́....Don't you recognize a star
Ẹẹ ni cable....Don't you got cable tv....

Nice one you really tried . Asake kini syllable is like she's forming not to know him or how to call his name. Now Asake is saying O dayan mo ( you don't know person) Yoruba is complicated, you translate with the tone 🤣🤣. That's where cable comes in, meaning you don't have cable Tv in your house? You've not been seeing me on TV.

The rest bang on 👍

O tun carry, if you combine it with the next line (o na foreign), will mean she is rich/affluent. Carry is a slang for being rich.

I so much love the song like simbi and the way you translate it is lovely

My Simbi never dissapoints. Ur gestures even make the song more lovely than the artist. I'm still waiting for " basquiat" translation.
