Red Lentil Hummus
I must to say I was super skeptical in the beginning. Hummus made with lentil. Really? But let me tell you guys. It’s absolutely a game changer, wow 🤩 It’s taste so good exactly like the real thing. Super quick to make, full of protein and flavors, my favorite dish for lazy days.
So what are you waiting for? Go make it now 🥳
Ingredients:
1 cup red lentil
1 1/2 cups water
Lemon juice from 1/2 lemon
1/2 cup raw tahini paste
1/2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp kosher salt
Olive oil
Paprika
Parsley
Method:
1. Place the red lentil in a strainer and was under tap water until the water is clear.
2. Transfer to a medium pot and add 1 1/2 cups water (no more), bring to a boil. Reduce to low heat and cook for 12-15 with close lid.
3. If there is any liquid left just transfer to a strainer and get rid of excess liquid. Let its cool for 5-10 min.
4. Transfer the cooked lentils into a food processor or a blender.
5. Add lemon juice, tahini, cumin and salt and blend until smooth and creamy texture.
6. Transfer into a serving plate. Drizzle with olive oil and garnish with paprika and parsley.
7. Serve with warm pita bread (I like to steam mine so it’s feels like it’s just came out of the oven).
Enjoy 😉
