So you're saying I could have two scottish eggs, the butternut squash risotto, and an STP for less than the price of THREE chicken sandwiches at johnny rockets?!?!

When I was 11, I posted my birthday cake on twitter and tagged him. It had a sparkler in it and he said "no wonder you set it on fire" and I haven't recovered.

I was one of the contestants on MasterChef, one of the early seasons, and I have to say, Gordon Ramsay is really nice. He is one of the sweetest, kindest men I’ve ever met… when the cameras are off. When the cameras go on he switches personality. And if he goes too far, he reminds us once the cameras are off that it’s just a character he plays. It’s one thing to enjoy the character, just remember the man himself is really nowhere near as cruel as he is shown on TV

Safiya is kind to give a shoutout to unknown chefs like Gordon Ramsay

Gordon is actually a nice guy. He will talk to fans for a long time, and is genuinely approachable. Anyone who has ever been on MasterChef or any of his shows also confirm he’s a sweetheart.

He only screams and yells because in America that persona got more views. So the networks had him lean fully into it and used editing to make him look explosive.

One of my favorite stories is that he was once visiting a jail to see how inmates use the kitchen. This one inmate actually impressed him so he promised him that if he got his act together - he would sponsor him once he got out jail.

Years later he completed his jail sentence and Gordon put him through chef school. He also personally trained him and then had the inmate work in his restaurants.

The inmate is now the head chef in one of Gordon’s 5 star restaurants and his life has completely changed.

I don’t even like Vegas, but I watch every single episode because they’re so well-researched and fascinating. Thanks for another!

I’ve met him, he came to my culinary arts school when I was 19. He’s actually really nice, at least he was to us. I think the yelling is mainly when he’s working in the kitchen and for TV. He was a really interesting speaker, and was very nice about the clear and obvious daddy issues crush I was failing to hide from EVERYONE lol.

Fun fact: Both fish and chips and tempura was introduced by Portuguese people to the UK and Japan respectively. So I'm not surprised you say the fish kinda seems like tempura. Cod is such a staple food in Portugal!

What I love about Gordon is that he ONLY yells at chefs, not those who are learning. Let me explain

On the shows he’s working with chefs/restaurant owners, and those who are looking to win a stint in one of his restaurants, he has HIGH expectations of them, and he holds them to those standards (they also know what they’re signing up for, and some of it IS done up for the production of it all)

However, on his kid shows, or shows with home cooks/regular people who aren’t chefs, he’s kind, he’s patient, and he’s willing to slow down, show them what they need to do, or ask how he can help. He has a lot of empathy, and he does show it!

Have I ever watched even a second of Gordon Ramsay on television? No.

10:55 idk why y'all said as as if it's a joke, this absolutely is an investigative channel and most traditional so-called journalists could learn SO much from your method, thoroughness, truthfulness, and clear distinction between objectivity and personal opinion, not even to mention how to combine information and entertainment.

My favorite Gordon Ramsey fact is that in his personal life, at home, his children prefer his wife's cooking.

As a Brit, there is no such thing as "proper Fish n' Chips protocol". Just get it down ye gullet and ye done it right.

There's something really wholesome about Safiya and Tyler discovering the joy of fish and chips for the first time.

It's not something Safiya mentions a lot, but I really like it when she references her Indian heritage
