Norfolk Southern railroad has agreed in principle to pay $600 million to settle a class action lawsuit over its toxic train derailment in East Palestine in February 2023. It would settle all class-action suits within a 20 mile radius and all personal injury suits within a 10 mile radius for those who choose to join the class-action. And the railroad would not admit wrongdoing or liability. Some believe the $600M is not nearly enough.
We'll discuss the proposed settlement on this week's Reporters Roundtable.
