Fort Hare University student has jumped off the 12th floor of a student residence

A Fort Hare University student has reportedly jumped off the 12th floor of the student residence at the University. It is said that the 24-year-old male student was last seen standing on the 12th floor. Later on, he was found lying deceased on the 5th floor.

Eastern Cape Police spokesperson, Brigadier Thembinkosi Kinana, explains.

Nsfas is to blame for this horrific death. This student was probably severely under pressure with only R290 a month stipend. That is R9, 60 a day for survival. How can students not kill themselves with such funding incompetencies from #nsfas.
