This rendition is absolutely beautiful. Orchestration impecable. And what most impresses me is that Susanna's voice sounds just like it did in the 80s.
I believe that Susanna Hoffs is a very underrated interpreter (except for her hard core fans, we know what she's worth). In her solo work and with the Bangles, her voice is absolutely beautiful. Sweet and girly sometimes, with a little raspiness when needed, or very seductive when the song calls for it.
In her own compositions as well as in her covers she rocks. Generally I like her versions more than the originals, but that's just my personal taste.
Fran Healy and Travis did well in including Susanna in this "across the pond" production.
Excellent collaborative effort by all.
