I can verify that this worked with my Tate model. That had the 7.4.9 OS on it. I used the newest CM release and the updated kfhd7-twrp-2.7.0.0-recovery. Works awesome and so far has not been glitchy at all! Thanks!

Followed all three videos and everything went smoothly. Couldn't get the ADB backup commands to recognize device, but went ahead and installed anyway. Thanks!

dude thanks for this tut i now have my KFHD (7.4.1) running kitkat....
one question how do i stop any OTA updates from changing my kindle back to a useless kindle tablet, i did use droid wall when i was running go-launcher (rooted stock kindle) but looking at droid wall now i cant see what to block
