I used to rent jet skis in the summer and people literally leave their brains on the dock. No matter how much instruction you give them it’s “Jesus take the wheel” every time they left the dock! I only wish I had filmed those summers!

I’ve watched this a hundred times now and my smile has not diminished. I can’t count how many times I’ve almost been hit by an idiot on a jet ski.

Every time a customer brought his Waverunner to my Yamaha shop in the 90’s, I’d tell him to fill out the work order with, “Make, Model, Year, and who you let borrow it”.
Every time they’d say, “How did you know?”

Right of way rules apply. Also, most lake rules restrict speed within so many feet of the shore down to no wake, especially near ramps or piers.

My family and I had to pull two kids out of the water after doing this exact same thing. One filleted his calf to the bone, almost bled out.. the other had his leg crushed, had to be life flighted, eventually had a 12” rod and 36 screws to hold it all together. Two seconds difference these guys could be in the same situation. Stay safe people, take a lesson or two on how jet skis operate, and don’t try to splash each other. It’s not worth it.
