this song feels like it’s meant to be beautiful, like home, but the ruins of it. When the world ends and all that’s left is an apocalyptic scene, this song will feel real.

It makes me think of someone who can't distinguish fake from reality anymore. They live in a state of awaken dreaming, with brief moments of awareness like when you suddently know you are dreaming. Seeing comfort in what's dangerous, trashing against soft embraces.

When I was a small child.... I used to fall asleep to music. I had no streaming software, so I downloaded stuff from cds and usb. I had a playlist on my ipod to sleep to. For me it was calming, for others, it was eerie. They were concerned. The songs on the playlist were very much like this. Very much. Songs like these comfort me, bring me back to my childhood. I love how this song has so many different effects on so many different people. I've read the comments and so many either reflect on happy times or feel a strange comfort. I just feel sad, like there is an empty piece of my heart that just wishes it were full and despises the state that it has always been in

its sort of a cynical commentary on how we idolize our military power, but it doesn't really solve the problems it attempts to fix, it just exists for its own sake. the "mom and dad" in this song are the leadership claiming they can make everything right, but their methods of doing so are sinister and inhumane: automatic arms, petrochemical arms, military arms. the hand that takes. "if not justice, there's always force."
notice also how the singing voice joins the background "ha ha ha ha" at some points, not in a joyful way, but in an almost weary way; holding a superficial cheer that seems as if it is laughing **at** the claims the voice on the phone is making.
