It may or may not be hard for people to believe now, but when this game first debuted in Autumn '06 I remember there must have been over 50 people crowded around the monitor at the Circuit City in my town to gawk at this game, and I'm not talking about in the video game department, they brought the Xbox 360 kiosk right to the front entrance by the registers so that everybody could see this game as they came and left the store, this was such a huge step up from every basketball game before it, was way beyond previous expectations for what a basketball game could do, and was the first game ever to give every player their own shooting form, the first game where people freely came and went from the bench, fans came and went from their seats, you could collide with others on the sideline, none of that existed the year before and people couldn't believe how good the game looked and would just standing there glued to the screen, dumbfounded over the realization that they were looking at a video game during actual game play, and not an actual television broadcast

I play nba 2k22 on ps5 and still come back to this game on xbox 360. So much fun, and the career mode influenced the City Slam tournament in todays game

Damn this game still looks beautiful. I been binging on NBA 2k5 on ps2 non stop the past staying up all night playing 24/7 mode. But looking at this makes you realize how powerful the 360 was. This is like night and day compared to 2k5😲😲😲.... bout to go pull my old 360 and 2k7 out of my daughter closet now.

This is literally the last 2k game I liked. And I loved this one. I actually stopped playing basketball games because of the simulation feel and clunky gameplay. I pulled this game out the other day and it was just as fun as 10 years ago

This was the first nba 2k game I ever played. I was always an nba live guy but a friend of mine put me on to it. When I got the xbox 360 this was the first game i I bought for it. And i never went back to nba live again lol. My two all time favorites 2k’s are 2k10 & this (2k&7).

Im a bit surprised with how smooth the gameplay is even when you compare it with 2k20. You can't try to make your player move the way he has to i mean the slides and sudden stops. They are trying to make it more realistic but the controls are getting harder every year. Haha

The uniform animation is still incredible in this game, 2k24 still doesn't us it at all.
