In this video, Billybob discusses the phoenix emergency nerf in Clash Royale. The phoenix is a new card that is very overpowered in this meta. An emergency nerf was needed because it has been destroying midladder, challenges, and even top ladder games because it is the best card in the game. The phoenix is stronger than the Clash Royale champions, and that has to change. This has led to Clash Royale to make an immediate emergency nerf to fix this issue.

They either nerf it to being useless or it becomes the new mega minion, cant really be an in-between unless it gets a complete rework.

It is definitely a great start but it is still going to force out an extra 2 Elixer to kill the egg so the card will still get insane value

i think that they should get rid of the death damage, it doesn't make much sense and i find it incredibly annoying when it takes out my goblins/low health troops while i'm defending a big push

They should rework it so that the egg counts as a building, meaning it can’t be cloned and it is targeted by hogs and wbs and such

I think a good nerf would be the seconde phenix as ÷2 the health of the first one

I think they need to remove the damage area when the phoenix drops egg, it doesn't have logic that egg can make damage to air enemies and also that makes the card like a bomber low cost

We need health and damage nerfs. You could also rework it to make it a win condition id be ok with that too but as of right now it’s a support AND win con. You can’t have both

At this point supercell should just remove phoenix until they’ve properly balanced it.

I just don't see the point of a 4 elixir phoenix when it is basically a substitute for so many 4 elixir cards, not to mention it's most comparable to Mega-Minion.

I would be fine with slightly buffing the phoenix itself (keep egg as is) and then make it 5 elixir so it's meaningfully different from Mega-Minion

A possible rework idea is giving the egg a health buff but make it so that the phoenix respawns with however much health the egg has in %

The attack speed is what settles it between many troops as it has a high damage output and overall damage in general. I think by nerfing it slightly could make a big impact.

I'm thinking if it's less health than a mega minion with high damage and an egg that can't be kept alive on your opponents side with just a small spell then it could be balanced. I'm starting to lean towards increasing the elixir cost because even with a health nerf it'll be pretty easy to stack up phoenixes with another unit tanking. A lot of people have suggested nerfing the post revive phoenix and I think that's a great idea. Something as extreme as giving it clone health would be reasonable to me at this point because god damn if it isn't annoying to make a tiny misplay against phoenix and suddenly a new 4 elixir card is on the map.

We know parts of the phoenix feathers are gold but what would make it interesting is that if it come back from the egg it will be bronze feathers instead so we'd know if the egg form was used easily. Needs a good rework because it's so annoying with mirror

I think it's good, half the time it's scary cause it does on their side, respawns and the counter push with it. This makes it easier to kill when it's dead on their side. I often currently find myself wanting a defending phoinex to cross the bridge in low health rather than die so my tower can finish the egg. It also means e golem pushes will be easier to stop, as healer can't heal the egg of it's one shot. Overall, a good nerf, but it will still be a busted carf

What some here suggested with-which I agree is reverting this egg HP reduction and instead making it so the revived Phoenix has the same percentage of HP the egg had.
I would also like to see a reduction to its hit speed, from 0.9 to 1.0, in order to make it less effective against swarm and generally deal lower DPS.

I think they could remove or heavily nerf the death explosion damage, and instead move it to an explosion when the egg is killed (said that instead of broken so what I mean isn’t confused)

They should nerf the respawned phoenix’ dps, I thought they would do this before released the card, what were they thinking?

I want the pheonix that was first release but its egg can die to the log, but this time, if the egg hatch, the phoenix will be like 65-80% upon respawning of its max hp.
