Violinist Pekka Kuusisto offers up his last instalment of Finnish folk song, filmed on a snowy afternoon at his home in Finland. These two polskas tie up a series of folk songs that Pekka has been filming himself since the summer, chasing the waning light and embracing the darkness of winter.

You should make another one of these series in the summer! You're my favorite violinist and I was really bummed when I couldn't come to your last concert in Oulu.

I like your story telling. And name dropping :)

This was lovely, but to be honest, I really want to hear the very very sad music Pekka had planned on playing... Might I inquire the title(s)?

There is an interesting to learn from a Finnish musician that Joseph Stalin and Frank Zappa share the same birthday. But then Finland is a country created by the poetry of the Kalevala and the music of Sibelius.
