1) no need to prick the crust, 2) double layer of foil, laying well-over crust edges, 3) pie weights in place, 4) @1:25 375F for 25-30 minutes, produces partially baked crust ready for immediate filling & final baking.

I think the foil would protect the pennies from getting into the crust. So there wouldn't be a problem there.

8 years late but here goes_ so no pennies, no nickles, no quarters and no marbles. sad. So what do I then use? got rice, beans but no bake weights. details like this keep me from baking pies.
