Ultimate Guide to Alterac Valley in Classic WoW - Maximize Honor and Rep (Alliance PoV)

After just 2 days of Alterac Valley in Classic WoW I gained over 220k honor. My guild was queueing with about 80+ people at the same time, and we got really sick of people spamming to rush Drek, as it gives little to no honor.

I made this video to show everyone the route that we take to optimize our honor/hour. If you're horde the same strategies apply, the names of the towers and whatnot are just switched.

Thank you. This is a much needed message. The panicked responses are an indicator that tons of alliance players have no idea how this BG is supposed to function. As a horde player, all we have to do is turtle with 15, then casually grab all objectives and leisurely kill Van, while alliance is completely perplexed. I miss having to defend towers and fight off bunker recaps. The BG needs to be buffed so players can be forced to play it properly.

The problem is if you do not do drek kinda fast then usually horde gets objectives+winn and you end up with nothing. As alliance you basically need 10+ ppl slowing horde push down or u wont winn it if you wait for all the objectives.

A tangential side note, but the Drek rush is primarily a rep farming strategy, not an honor farming one. The reason why people were rushing Drek and bypassing the objectives was to farm rep ASAP for the exalted rewards.

That works when both sides rush. It immediately stops working when one side protects their stuff or take it back. Horde in my pool does that and kill the alliance piece by piece. Simply cause each one say „Go south!“ no matter if it works and let everything undefended. Horde has it really easy this days and thats in a BG which is slightly terrainfavored for alliance

Advanced Kek is when you walljump outside the map boundries through the mountains or go idle at the roof of Drek hut, not many can do that

This is correct, however if the opposition rush you won't get anything other than a Galv/Balinda kill for honor, i'm repeatedly seeing rush teams kill in the time it takes to get to the oppositions boss if you stopped at Galv/Balinda, so you aren't getting towers. The best i can see if rush Galv/Bal, kill lieutenants near mid and then pray your on the rush team as capping those towers only works if neither team can PVE it hard, GL and HF people.

I appreciate those who stay back and capture towers etc. I get much more rep and honor out of these rounds. with the rush to last boss mentality its always a roulette. its not like "if you follow this strategy we win all the time" i mean, if someone belives that they can win all the time, the other team has to allow that to happen.

You get on average 200 rep every loss and 1.1k rep every win. Change the title of this video. You are maximizing honor here, not rep!

yeah...but Hord deffs and then you just lose and you take longer caus your zerging in Base for 1h

i like gankin allies in the FoS, and make them spawned at SH GY, just keep them there while horde go north, unless we have a Faerlina sperg and caps SH GY and causes a 1h AV games

Each time I suggest to alliance to actually cap the towers after the "RUSH DREK" doesn't work because the horde know our 1 tactic and play a little defense I get laughed at saying I don't know how to play the game. HAHAHAHA!!!!

No, you can't change the way certain people play. The new ( current AV ) is made that way. Older AV was impossible to rush, considering how impossible it was to even come close to slaughtering liutenants.
