Chiwetel is so underrated as an actor .He deserves more. I actually think he should have gotten an Oscar for 12 years a slave.

Having grown up in Malawi and seeing William come up, innovate, do his Ted talks, build the innovation Centre, and now get a motion picture out of his experience is inspiring. Gives me a lot of hope for that little warm heart of Africa

The film is heartbreakingly beautiful. I spent 5 years of my childhood living in Mocambique and often when I see films where Africa is portrayed, I feel people are portrayed as cardboard characters and the richness of culture and warmth of people is missing. This one doesn't, this film loves the people, believes in the people, it is a film full of human beings, not full of cardboard africans suffering. It shows the meeting of religions and traditions that is Africa and which is perfectly normal, the scavenging and inventiveness of people who have to make the most of what they have. It is great to see netflix give space to content that transcends borders, and tells a much wider story of our world, and it's a great directorial debut for Chiwetel. On a far more silly note, Trevor and Chiwetel in a show together.... it's a bit of a sensory overload (giggle).

Everything about this interview screams Black Excellence, African Excellence. I am so proud of this new generation of Africans who are crossing borders and making their mark in the world. I am so inspired by these two and can't wait to watch the film!

I saw the movie on Saturday on Netflix. It was BEAUTIFUL, MARVELOUS, STUPENDOUS, AND OUTSTANDING! I cannot say anything negative about it!!! And the young William was a excellent actor, who brought life to a real and true situation. William was resourceful, relentless, ambitious, creative and brilliant to say the least. I loved it immensely. I am looking for the soundtrack to the movie. If anyone knows where I can get it, please tell me where. Much blessings for this film and anyone associated and the people of Malawi and Blessings to all the Black People in the Motherland and everywhere.

Seriously, idk why people still complain a lot about movie with subtitles. *It won't hurt your eyes and won't ruin the movie!*

I am a Malawian who who grew up in a village setting. This story never ceases to inspire. Great movie. I can relate to many of the aspects portrayed and would watch this movie forever.

Some would criticise the Chichewa accents but I think to learn Chichewa in a short period and be able to act in it.... they deserves a lot of credit.

Thank you Chiwetel Ejiofor for bringing this story to the international stage. (Can't believe that as late as 2017, i was still confusing Chiwetel and Chadwick Boseman
