For about as long as humans have been sharing cuddles with doggos, we’ve been obsessed with discovering the most loyal dog breeds. We just love a doggo that can love us right back, and there are some breeds who are happy to step into the role of most loyal companion. The Bouvier des Flanders is quite possibly *THE MOST* intelligent dog ever! Not only is it as loyal & protective as a dog could possibly be but, they also make for a most excellent family member. To know 1 of these big fur balls is to love them.
Don't even think about adopting 1 of this breed before doing thorough, in depth research. They are puppies for the 1st two years of their lives & require intensive, continuous training during that time especially. Otherwise you'll end up with an unruly dog anywhere from 70 - 110lbs. that wants nothing more to do than jump.
When the work needed to train them properly is invested in them, you will not only have a big, gentle, loving & totally loyal family member that's perfect with your kids & other family pets but, the intellect these dogs have is beyond any guard dog I'm betting you've ever known of.
Take for example if a stranger to your Bouvier {but who knows you} starts running across a street toward you, raising their arms fast to enwrap you in a big hug. Any other guard dog would take that as a serious sign of aggression & that person would be attacked before managing to give you a hug.
Now the extremely intelligent Bouvier would pick up on the subtle cues that this was not a situation to defend it's human. It would stand at the ready, continuously reading the subtle nuances & the slightest possible changes at any given time. Fully willing to lay down it's life if ever need be to protect it's people.
I have had the great honour of knowing 1 of these incredible souls in my early teens. Left at a relative's farm {I'm female} alone at times from the age of 10 - 14 with a cash box full of money while everyone went off to market. Taking earnings & making change from those who came to pick their own strawberries.
After a brief lesson about the commands {German} Jenny knew, I felt the safest I ever did in my entire life {tied with a time I was sleeping on a park bench in downtown Toronto, being guarded by a huge & gorgeous Rottweiler with the sweetest soul ... as they both had}.
Anyone who tried to steal that cash box or do anything to me would have had to be out of their mind! Jenny laid at my feet on the porch of the beautiful farm house, keeping a close protective eye over me. Those were the best summers down on the farm at my 1st cousin's. I just turned 59 & how Jenny touched my soul will never leave me. May she, R.I.P. frolicking in a strawberry field. So big, so beautiful, so gentle & huggable. I will miss you *SO DEEPLY* forever & you weren't even my dog. 😘🐕‍🦺🍓🐺

i have a 9 year old presa canario name jack. he never leaves me i moved out when i was 17 jack came with me he even protected me when i was broke in on. he stayed with me even when i got layed off due to covid an couldn't feed him like i should. due to low money... i think presa canario should be on this list
