As an avid smite player and 75 month sub to Tyler it brings me joy to hear him talk about smite again. Wish he would try it out again since I can't stand watching league

I enjoy smite it has a lot of gamemodes but if I want big 5v5 battles I’ll always play league for them

My 2 cents on Smite is, if you're big on skill shots try it, it doesn't have runes (so you don't have a lot of personalization in that regard) and you can choose one spell in the mid game for whatever the situation calls, there're a lot of cc immunity abilities (generally ultimates, there are spells like clense as well) so you can use those if you're in a pinch and you're seeing a root or stun inbound, at least in my experience the games tend to be way faster paced with everybody reaching max level and getting full build at around the 25/30 minute mark and fights tend to last much longer than in league

I have been preferring league because A. I have way more friends that play league other than smite, B. The champions have way more interesting ideas, like kayn (which is my main) and many others, C. many champions opperate by other rules, like not needing mana, D. ultimates many times have cool and unique effects that make that champion unique, which is the case in smite, but there's nothing as creative as Mordekaizer's death realm (that I despise, but it's unique either way) or kindred's or tarique's ult that make your team or create a field that makes you invincible for a set duration

Both games are good in their way, they are simpler than the other in some ways and more complex than the other in other ways, I say if you like MOBAs give each game some time, it took me 60 hours+ to get used to league's mechanics and an account that has a joke name because I thought that I would never use it again is now my main account. I've put way more time in smite, I'm not liking how this year's season is changing the meta completely every quarter of the year, so I'm enjoying my time with league right now, maybe someday my friends will be up to try smite, but until then I'm sticking with this option

the one thing SMITE will always have over League is the collabs. its the same with Paladins over Overwatch. I mean ffs your team in SMITE can legit be Raphael TMNT, Avatar Aang, Slipknot Corey Taylor, Optimus Prime, Ruby Rose from RWBY.

Smites cool because gods have this thing called a health bar that actually doesnt go straight to 0 when the enemies enter a 500 meter radius of your character. and abilities believe it or not can give you CC IMMUNITY meaning theres actually counterplay to stuns/pulls etc.

Everytime we write one of our teammates who isn't jungle that they still have smite, we secretly advertise their game.

Smite is super fun to play casually with friends. Honestly avoiding conquest is the most fun for me. Joust, Slash and Game mode of the day is the go to. League is a better game to play comp

I have an avid love/hate for both games. I have probably about 800 hours in League compared to a collective 6000+ in Smite, but I actually came to League from Smite because the ranked mode had some drastic changes that were so shitty at the start that it made climbing at the time absolute hell. I remember going from Masters the season before the changes to having to start in Gold, and if at any point you lost maybe.. 2, 3 games out of your first 15? Your climbing experience instantly became 20x harder because the ranked system thought it had a really good idea of your rank and would pit you with people who are the equivalent of silver on League.. the "I know more than you because I watch a YouTuber" type.

I haven't had much time to sit and grind ranked in League, both because of life and because I know I'll never be as good at League as I was at Smite. But I have always enjoyed the feeling that it was a consistent grind, and I'd get much more of the norm of "just one bad teammate once in a while" where most games felt competitive. There's a lot of design and balance choices I'm not a big fan of in League, and I'm still in a way hard-wired mechanically for Smite as a third-person game. Nonetheless, I still have an adoration for both as MOBAs.

I actually enjoy playing Smite casually, I got better at it over time, but too bad none of my friends play it, they only tryhard in League

Been playing since late S2

Game has evolved visually, but the balance has regressed. God releases are stretched to far apart and their kits usually come out extremely uninspired or bland.

If I owned a PC I’d love to get into league. Smite has no console competition so of course console players are only going to play this game because there literally is nothing else(yet).

Smite does feel very immersive and there are actually tons of older gods that aren’t totally shafted by power creep.

Overall it’s about a 7.5/10 for me. Not a bad game, but it’s huge emphasis on pandering to its casual fan base with battle passes and crossovers instead of fixing serious issues like matchmaking and it’s servers is what’s holding it back.

As someone who basically plays LoL since season 4, I have to say, trying smite randomly as of late has been more fun than me having a pop off game. Because in smite i'm having fun even when losing. In league since im attached af, I get tilted if I see a pick I don't like in champ select. While Smite i'm like "yeah whatever I don't care"

PLUS, Smite isn't as c*ncerous as League with the shielding and 300 dashes, invulnerability, true damage and shit. Damage feels pretty fine, and u get oneshotted only if the dude is REAAAALLLLY FED. League u oneshot even when ppl are 2/5 which is BS
