short answer: yes, the mac os high sierra doesn't break applications that aren't updated as much anymore. though there can be draw backs become some apps don't work for high sierra because of how downgraded it is, but it is still a greater os

How are you getting high hard drive speeds(1200 reads 2300 writes)? Average ssd is 500 reads and writes and higher on raid setup? Catalina also does not support raid drives setup correct?

I reseted my MacBook 2015 and installed it. It is may more fluid than the previous Mac OS I installed and surprisingly stable. I really love this update. Honestly I expected it to be buggy and slow.

i noticed lots of my fav Apps that are old don't work. i also think it would be easier instead of having both Older & Newer app of FinalCutPro on one machine.. my mom has
MacOShigh-Sierra & i found she could still airdrop to my MacPro that is running an older os sadly my macbookpro2012 was updated to Catalina and i cant airdrop anymore to an older OS.

seems older os is still updated for security so i may slowly downgrade after testing the old os once again

Battery life in high sierra is very high 10-12 hours while Catalina is less 4-5 hours

After installing MacOS Catalina, back in July 2019, I couldn't stand the 64-bit software support, since none of the developers for the programs I used were actually interested into changing from 32-bit. Also, for some reasons, there were a lot of slowdowns and system errors, so there was only one thing to do - reinstall MacOS High Sierra.

Only thing I like about it compared to high sierra in 2023 is software support, like so much still runs on Catalina but not high sierr
