Jake Johnson has discovered a key thing that most actors never figure out -- being the "star" and the driving force of a show or movie or franchise can drain you because you're caught up in a whole Hollywood machine. Jake appreciates observing and interacting from a special vantage point that's just off to the side of the spotlight, and he's probably a better performer because of it.
While New Girl seems like it was initially conceived as a lead female character and then the other actors in supporting roles, it morphed over time into an ensemble cast. The creators were smart to flesh out those other characters, and all of those actors (especially Jake Johnson) delivered great performances.

It’s refreshing to hear someone be content with their work and the role they play in life (quite literally in an actor’s case). We’re always conditioned to want more, and it’s exhausting. He loves his craft but he doesn’t want the responsibility that comes with being a megastar, and I get it!

Best interviewers I've ever seen anywhere: Sam Jones of the off camera show, and Sean Evans of the Hot Ones. These two people seem so humble, kind, intelligent and so interested in the interviewees, they find out the best stories the guests have. Sam and Sean also make the best questions based on their extensive research of their guests. Absolutely amazing and a joy to watch.

Nick Miller Nick Miller... almost a lawyer. From the first episode, I loved Nick. Everybody was obsessed with Schmidt (he IS an awesome character, but Nick was my favourite).


And I also respect a LOT Jake Johnson. He's down to earth and so talented. He does it for the fun of it.
