Great review and assessment of how consumers are trending and Honda’s attempt to split the difference. I have this bike and I love it. The flashing lights can be programmed for different things but I think it’s factory set to indicate Eco mode. But can be changed to gears (each color indicates a certain gear), or you can set a rev limiter, or u can turn it off and it will only light up if you’re low on fuel. I don’t mind the plate hugger but the muffler just seemed huge and out of place so I replaced that. This bike is great for commuting....the fireblade engine used has been detuned so it’s pretty tame at lower revs and doesn’t really get into its powerband until 5500 rpms or so and then it really comes alive. Totally agree, these restored cafe bikes look great but I wouldn’t want to ride one for very long. Nice to have bits of both worlds which Honda was going for....as u mentioned.

It’s a pretty good bike in its stock form but the euro 4 kills the midrange
when modded
full exhaust/rapidbike/quick shifter/levers/bar end mirrors it’s a beast

Honda EU says "Other information available to the rider is a shift-up indicator on the top right corner of the dash, which either flashes white with increasing frequency as rpm passes the preset value or goes yellow-amber-pink as a visual guide to change up. Further functionality options in that space are an ECO riding indicator, gear position indicator and riding mode indicator."

Handle is to low i'm thinking..not comfortable to me as it's a cafe
