It was interesting, after the game, Steph, KD, and Bron were saying that they didn't really call many plays at the end. Not that they didn't run SETS, but these guys have played 15+ years in the league. So they could diagnose what set to run based on the defense, what role they should have in that look, and place themselves accordingly. The level of understanding and IQ to be able to do that nonverbally so seamlessly is truly incredible. THAT'S mastery. As a musician, it's like when you can just improvise a jam. You don't need to tell the other guys the chords or the key, they just know what to do. And the superstars can even take it further and expound on a riff or go into a solo without losing grip on the central progression or motif.
That's what the big 3 did. To use star wars terms, they shut off the targeting computers, cut out the noise, and trusted the force. It wasn't just three guys taking turns isoing with Embiid sometimes coming up to set screens. One or two moves, kick, cut to the basket, set an off ball screen, catch, shoot. That go ahead shot from Steph was a perfect example. Embiid knew to set the screen and he wiped Steph's guy out so that the ball coukd find him and he delivered. Nobody called any set, no one threw up a hand signal. They just "knew." That was REAL BASKETBALL
