El Viento (Genesis) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

A complete playthrough of Renovation's 1991 Sega Genesis action platformer, El Viento.

Played through on the default settings. I LOVE this game. It's easily the best of the three-part Annet series (Earnest Evans wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly awesome, and Annet Futatabi... well, the less said, the better). It's super-fast moving, fludily animated (without EE's ridiculous flailing limb look), has a really gritty feel to it that adds quite a bit to the atmosphere, and has a great soundtrack - really, listen to the last boss theme. It doesn't get much better than that :)

Great gameplay, great music, great story, great game!!
And gotta love Annet! She's such a great protagonist, and the graphics are stunning!!!

It's not quite top-tier, but this really is one of Wolf Team's best platformers on the Genesis. It also features a shot of Mount Rushmore in which Teddy Roosevelt's mug has been replaced with a Moai head. Did Wolfteam really sweat Konami THAT much?

I love these creative and quirky Genesis titles. What a gem!

In retrospect, Renovation may have been the absolute champion publisher of niche titles on any 16-Bit platform from that era.
This title is merely one of several breathtaking examples...
Bravo.
Great video!

Wow, I love this game a lot. It has something that "binds" you to the game. Excellent Playthrough.

Is that the only ending?

Zeigfreid: "Remember. Henry is the real bad guy, totally don't kill Restiana."
Annet: *Kills Restiana*
Zeigfried: "K then."
Annet: "She turned into a final boss, I had to."

If not for Nick Arcade we wouldn't have heard of this underrated masterpiece

This is perhaps best known as the game that was completely passed upon when offered as a Video Challenge on Nickelodeon Arcade for 12 episodes. All other games on that show were played at least once. Nice graphics and decent game play with some RPG elements with a nice story for its era.

Wouldn't be a Wolf Team game without the seizure inducing camera movement and spritework.

It appears that El Viento is one of the lesser known Call of Cthulhu campaigns...

It's amazing how I never passed the first level and this guy or girl made it through from the beginning to the end

Native spanish speaker here: "El Viento" (The Wind) isn't that ominous of a name :P

That said, never played this game but I don't imagine if I would have back then I would not get the subtle references to H.P Lovecraft present in the game, and that makes it awesome :). time to continue watching

Cool game with a fantastic soundtrack and interesting plot. I remember reading about it in game magazines back in the day but never played it. Could have been a classic.
