Chis, thanks a lot for answering this question! Mine was among the others'. My cyrillic name is Maria in English:)
TMAO seems to be a big issue, which is hard to avoid, since not everyone is ready to become a vegetarian. So it would be very useful to know what can be done to reduce it by taking some extra products or pills. Here is an interesting extract I've found:
"On the other hand, in old mice that were fed the substance dimethylbutanol (DMB), which prevents the formation of TMA and TMAO, a slowdown in the "aging" of blood vessels was observed. DMB is found in small amounts in olive oil, vinegar and red wine."

The real question is: is the whole TMAO issue clinically relevant? I’m skeptical.

Quick question (I hope): What are your thoughts about an absorption cap on choline, for example choline bitartrate? I've heard some talk about it, and it makes intuitive sense that the body may only absorb X amount of choline at one sitting and the rest makes its way down the colon, but as you know this is a potential issue due to TMAO. I can't find anything online that I feel confident in. Is there a cap? Do you know how much, or what the range is, either actually or (I suspect) theoretically? I know you recommend eggs, then phosphatidylcholine, but I'd prefer taking choline bitartrate, perhaps in multiple small daily doses, if I could be reasonably sure most or all of it was being absorbed and not ending up in the gut. Thanks.

Chris I suffer from TMAU. I’d love to hear your opinion on how to treat this. There aren’t many supplements that work for this. The low choline diet has made me worse over time, antibiotics are awful for my overall well being and nothing else seems to work except high dose riboflavin to a certain degree.
