Woke Hollywood SLAMMED with MASSIVE CUTS to PAY BILLIONS for SPORTS rights!

TV appears to have taken a bit of a hit on the diversity front in the first half of the year.

According to a new report from Samba TV, while diversity in the United States continue to grow, that is not being represented on the small screen. The company says that representation of non-white leads on television was down 12% year-over-year.

Breaking that down even further, Samba reports that just 39% of the top-billed actors in the top 50 TV shows of 2023 were non-white. Hispanic actors took the hardest hit, accounting for just 6% of top-billed actors in those shows — a 40% decrease in representation year-over-year.

I quit watching Football after the Kapernick fiasco. I quit watching basketball after a few people in the Celtics organization lost their shit. I quit watching baseball after a series of similar issues (and the Red Sox choosing not to resign my two favorite players in a 3 year span; Mookie Betts and Xander Bogarts...morons). I went from watching 2-4 hours of sports pretty much daily (including highlights) to *Zero* over the course of 4 years. I still play them a couple of times a week, but as for watching it or buying their products, nadda. I can certainly see why it's still so valuable though. I mean heck, the average demo for most sports in 5-100/yo's! There's a lot of money floating around in there. I remember listening to a sports radio show where they were talking about an athlete going bankrupt and the host said that according to their numbers the average show listener made over $175K/yr and should never have bill issues, never mind someone who gets paid $25M/yr after endorsements. This was around 2015 when $175K was essentially _rich_ in most of the country outside of LA and NY. Again, that's a big average number to just leave on the table.

Additionally, people are more likely to watch the commercials bc you (well at least me) didn't want to risk missing something important happening while you were catching up on 3 minutes of a Dr. Phil rerun.

So is it worth that much? If they can spend $200M on the Acolyte and over that for a live action fricken Snow White (wtf, how does that even happen?) then yes, absolutely. If they want eyeballs on television again they need the same thing Hollywood does. Writing that appeals to *the masses, * not just some pocket of ultra liberal millionaire book club liberals with nose jobs and mommy makeovers women in a California gated neighborhood in the suburbs. They need beautiful people who are only interested in promoting the politics in their show, which cannot always have the same ultra conservative evil white guy villain. If it's a kids show then you simply *DO NOT* make sexuality and sex itself an issue. Want to throw an LGBTQIAP+ kid in a _"Dawson's Creek-like"_ show? Cool. But don't make half the cast LGBTQIAP+ and call it representation. In the most comprehensive study I've ever seen (I believe it was Stanford 2021 but am not 100% sure) they came up with something absurd; 15% of women and 10% of men identified as some type of _"queer."_ This was promoted to high heaven, but what everyone left out was that only 0.7% of women and 1.5% of men had actually ever done anything sexual with someone of the same sex. Not had intercourse, a simply kiss would have counted, and the number they got was around 1% aggregate. Now these were college kids for the most part, in California. If rich college kids are at 1% what the heck is the rest of the general populace actually? Certainly not the 25% or so they show in Hollywood, though rich white men probably are the majority of the _"Villains"_ in North America. Lol, like a 65% majority, not 99% though.

The media has these kids so confused they think that if they can identify someone of the same sex as attractive then they must be homogay; except that isn't how it works. having a "Gay" dream doesn't make you queer either. Not being _"grossed out"_ by gay people doesn't, nor does being ambiguous. But they are drilling into kids, at an extremely young age, that they might be, heck, probably are in some cases, gay, and they should be proud of it. Then they get treated better when they go along with it. Wtf?

So yeah, I can see why sports is pulling more views than ever. It's one of the only things on TV where men can still be masculine and be rewarded for it.

Funny, I can only think of 3 male LGBTQIAP+ people. 3. Out of all of the athletes I've watched, past and present. I'd think a quarter of them would be some type of queer, and pretty outspoken about it since it is a _"Born that way and it has nothing to do with test/estrogen levels stupid!"_ but nope. Less than 1%.

Heh, you know what's almost ironic? If that many people; heck, 10%+, were actually gay, I can almost promise you that the government would make it illegal. Legit against the law. Why? Bc society would collapse due to the low birth rates. We are already well below replacement levels, and 10% of the populace being queer would drop us below South Korean levels...I mean shit, we are on track to lose most social programs in 10-15 years bc we won't have the tax revenue to pay for them without cutting the defense and bank bailout budgets as is. Does anyone believe that the government would let 30M or so potential tax payers simply not be born over that period of time? Sorry folks, but it would not happen.

The people in Hollywood, San Fran, Edmonton, Montreal, Manhattan...yeah, most are nuts. They want everyone to have their champagne socialist attitude but stay broke as shit while being good little consumers. I have no problem with gay people, but why would anyone push any sexuality on someone else? You like what you like. No one should care, and from 1990-2010 it seemed like no one did. That was also, as a whole, the least racist time I've ever lived through or read about, but these professors and story-tellers make it sound like the 1920's, '30's and '40's. Sometimes like the damn 1700's for God's sake.

I honestly don't know what is wrong with them, but if they want eyes on their shows they have to change. Sexuality simply isn't a social construct. People want to poke/get poked by based on a physiological response, regardless of how many times they try to say _"No suh."_ I'm sorry if that makes some people feel more alone, but it's the simple truth, and all the woke programming they toss on the screen is not going to change objective facts. The microplastics and chemicals in the air/water/food along with a slew of SSRI's might, but a Star Wars show is not going to cut it. It is a great way to keep us fighting amongst ourselves instead of directing our ire at the people actually causing the real fiscal problems with the US/Canada/England and EU though.

I'd be slightly more interested to hear what this "sports mania" will do to program offerings (or lack of them) for the views who 'Don't do sports." They may cut back on non-sports offerings but what happens when their audience share drops because 33% of their audience doesn't give a hoot about sports? What will their greed compel them to do by way of compensation for lost audiences?

I do not watch the NBA, NFL, MLB, NASCAR. ESPN/Disney/ABC and all networks have ruined sports. It is trickling down into college sports now. The Olympic coverage is becoming woke. But the commercials and inserts are really woke.

My grandfather had season football tickets for us to go. It's been years since I'd go to professional sport event, and I seldom watch on TV. I no longer know anyone with season tickets. Professional sports needs a major reset if they don't want to collapse all together. Player salaries are beyond stupid, and ticket prices are beyond what most people can pay.

The movie stories audiences want are the same ones audiences wanted when movies were still silent. It hasn't changed. Large scale sports entertainment goes back at least to the Greeks and the Romans and probably further. As long as movie makers insist on making what audiences don't want, they will lose money on those projects.

Im for the U.K. and I used to love watching the nfl on Sunday nights. Then the nfl and the sky sports panel started bringing in social messaging non stop and I turned off. The only sports I watch now are Indycar, IMSA, WEC and BTCC because they all respect their flags and have zero messaging and most importantly sexy race cars!
