Richard: "He died of melancholy."
Edward: "You named your mace melancholy, didn't you?"

That may have been your best intro to any video, perhaps to any history video ive seen. I love how you bring us into the field to get a glimpse of being at the ground, individual level and really bring history to life. Thank you

Whatever your thoughts on Richard III are, I think we can all agree on one thing: the man did not lack for courage.

This was so immersive. You are on a roll lately! Richard shown as a monster in the intro got me hooked!

Fun fact-Richard despite having scoliosis which is the curving of the spine was able to kill the standard bearer Of Henry Tudor and unhorse the Jousting champion as well as coming to a swords length Of Killing Henry Tudor

Wow what an intro!! This channel is absolutely stunning in its presentation of this conflict. I always hate it when the video ends. Also the narrator's voice is nearly perfect.

I like the fact that the battle of bosworth and sekigahara were eerily similar with each other. Each were decided by the intervention of third parties on the battlefield and both have generals in the losing side who didn't commit their own troops in the battlefield.

Also both battles resulted in the establishment of a new dynasty (Tudor & Tokugawa) respectively and end of the major fighting in the civil wars for both countries (although sengoku Jidai would drag on until 1615 with the siege of Osaka)

Richard III was a troubled king, but undeniably one of the fiercest warrior in history. He participated in almost all of Edward IV's (his brother) major battles in the Wars of Roses and played critical roles in each of them. His final moment in the Bosworth was the most glorious death a solider could get.

One of the most poetic and amazing intro from any of your previous videos. Truly a great recounting of the battle.

I wonder how different history would've been had Richard III retreated from Bosworth Field instead of fighting the the death. Great video.

I don't understand why the video says Lord Stanley had been a supporter of Richard for decades. Stanley and Richard knew each other from the latter's time as Warden of the North and they loathed one another. Stanley built his power and riches on kidnapping the children of other nobles and holding them for ransom as well as other dubious acts that were only made possible by the chaos of the war of the roses. Richard forced him to put a stop to his racket and he never forgave him. This is why he held his son hostage because he did not trust him at all to be loyal. It's worth mentioning as well that Stanley is the quintessential side switcher of the period and he never committed to a faction until a clear winner had emerged. The guy was far more monstrous than anything Tudor historiography can conjure up on Richard III.

It's always a good day when History Marche drops a video, especially if it's about RICHARD III! THANK YOU!!!

Margaret Of Beaufort, Henry VII’s mother, deserves her own video. She was a pragmatist who orchestrated Henry’s rise to the thrown for almost thirty years. The army that Henry fought with at the Battle of Bosworth was funded by her.

I hope you guys adapt the rest of the wars of the roses! It's the epitome of medieval warfare, the last roar of a dying age ended at the tip of the swiss pikes

That introduction was a movie, and a lifetime, in a few minutes. Amazingly done.
