How would you fix the industry wide cheating issue?

I seen one cheater on marvel rivals, I reported him during the match and after the match he was banned for 1000 years. Microsoft studios just doesn't care.

Cheaters suffer from some sort of delusion where they start forgetting they're even cheating & genuinely believe they're good at the game, poor things

Paying to cheat in a video game has to be one of the most pathetic things a human can do. That's just embarrassing.

Goes to show that the only thing kernel level Anti-cheat does is take up resources to do a ton of nothing. Probably need to switch to a server side anti cheat so the people who make the cheats don’t have access to the code. Would also probably stop people altering things server side like Apex and MCC.

A franchise as perfect as Halo…it’s sad to see how people can find cheating enjoyable on it. Let alone any other game. Thanks for spreading awareness, Mint.

I remember back during the og halo 2 days on original xbox coming across hackers too. Guy was flying around super fast shooting sniper bullets like it was an smg or something. I'm sure it's harder to hack/cheat on console, but lets not get it twisted, it happens there too.

What I would do is twofold, the overwatch system from CS:GO, with administration overview, this way, we can have massive ban waves from aid of trusted individuals of the community, but their votes only push the users to the forefront and give those they voted yes on a temporary ban of 3 hours, letting an admin view the ban, and view all footage involve with the user from the first report onward and let them decide if the ban remains permanent or to lift it.

I will never understand cheating in multiplayer, it's dumb and makes the hacker appear more as a winy child than anything else.

Lmao, you really think that there are no cheaters on consoles?
What a grand and intoxicating innocence!

Fix: ranked needs phone number linked to account. Not so easy to find several phone numbers to keep cheating. You have the option in game to only match verified accounts.

Legal action makes the most sense imo. When little Timmy’s parents get sued by a multi million dollar company I don’t think little Timmy will be aim botting anymore.

I love the contrast of Remy’s gameplay as he talks about the KD of online vs LAN for Monster. Someone that actually enjoys and respects the game ends up really good compared to scum that can’t feel good about himself without ruining the game for everyone by cheating. I’ll never ever understand cheating except that it has to be narcissistic or egotistical. RIP bozo

Honestly, even moving to console won't fix the issue. If cheaters want to cheat they find ways. The best way to beat it is to update the anticheat with the cheats being used.
Cyber security isn't a one deal problem. It's always evolving just like cheats.
As cheats evolve, so does the anti cheat. The best way to slow cheating down is to NOT make the game free to play.

I'm sorry but going "console only" is NOT going to fix the problem and will only further separate the PC gaming community and console community in negative ways.

Glad to hear Halo Studios are doing something to try and combat cheating in MCC/Infinite. Though I can't say I've seen or heard anything from any of their official channels regarding this. It would go a long way in letting the wider gaming community know that the games are safe(r) to play if they published a Waypoint article, or at the bare minimum made a tweet saying they were doing something.
